Dear Experts,
I've opened a support case on Device Writeback, but support responded that this is a preview feature and thus no support is given. Hence a thread here to see if someone has experience getting Device Writeback to work with the latest version of AADSync / AADConnect.
I've followed the guide with AADConnect, the AAD Connect (Public Preview 2 version) wizard shows the Device Writeback option, but it is greyed out. A mouseover says the following: "This feature is disabled because there is no eligible forest with appropriate permissions for device writeback".
However, I have run the Initialize-ADSyncDomainJoinedComputerSync and Initialize-ADSyncDeviceWriteBack powershell commands which came with the tool's PowerShell Module (which is also broken btw), my active directory now contains a RegisteredDevices container, and the configuration schema contains a Device Registration Configuration container under the Services container.
I have even temporarily attempted to set Everyone permissions on these containers, but still the same problem, the option remains greyed out.
Any ideas?
