I am really new to the ADFS/Azure/O365 settings.
Current ADFS config is using v2.0 on 2008R2 (ADFS, Proxy and DirSync)
We have had ADFS setup to O365 for over a year, and just now found out that Dirsync is the old way....so was told to get ADSync...only to find that it too is being phased out for ADConnect. So I attempted to 'simply' upgrade our existing DirSync (no idea what version) to ADConnect....first I had to update our PS framework (this is running 2008R2). After doing that, required a reboot.
For some reason SQL is installed on this system and has an instance named MSONLINE, but I was told by my predecessor that our dirsync is using WID not SQL. I don't see the SQL management studio installed. How can I verify that we are using WID not SQL?
Currently running 1.0.7020.0 of DirSync.
When attempting to install ADConnect at the point that it is checking our dirsync config I get the following error:
"The Directory Sync Tool is configured with options that cannot be automatically upgraded to Azure AD Connect"
Why are we getting this error in upgrading to AD Connect?
