Hi All

I am using this way to get an access token using a username and a password for integrating with Azure AD using some web-api:

Request Format:

POST https://login.microsoftonline.com/<tenant id>/oauth2/token HTTP/1.1
Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded
Host: login.microsoftonline.com
Content-Length: 194
Expect: 100-continue

resource=<App ID URI>&grant_type=password&username=<user@name.com>&password=<PASSWORD>&client_id=<CLIENT_ID>&scope=openid

Response Format:

RESPONSE:
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Cache-Control: no-cache, no-store
Pragma: no-cache
Content-Type: application/json; charset=utf-8
Expires: -1
Server: Microsoft-IIS/8.5
x-ms-request-id: <GUID>
x-ms-gateway-service-instanceid: <NAME>
X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff
Strict-Transport-Security: max-age=31536000; includeSubDomains
P3P: CP="DSP CUR OTPi IND OTRi ONL FIN"
Set-Cookie: flight-uxoptin=true; path=/; secure; HttpOnly
Set-Cookie: x-ms-gateway-slice=productiona; path=/; secure; HttpOnly
Set-Cookie: stsservicecookie=ests; path=/; secure; HttpOnly
X-Powered-By: ASP.NET
Date: <DATE>
Content-Length: 2949

{"expires_in":"<NUMBER>","token_type":"Bearer","scope":"user_impersonation","expires_on":"<NUMBER>","not_before":"<NUMBER>","resource":"<App ID URI>","access_token":"<ENCODED_ACCESS_TOKEN>","refresh_token":"<ENCODED_REFRESH_TOKEN>","id_token":"<ENCODED_ID_TOKEN>"}

My Questions:

This scenario works fine, I am able to get the access token and parse most of the parts of it, and I am able to know the user details, but:

1- Is this way to get a token using a username and password official and accepted by Microsoft and can be used legally (even-though that it works, but it is not documented anywhere in the internet by Microsoft as I'm aware of, someone has done some reverse engineering to get the request / response format, there is something similar documented here:https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/dn645542.aspx but this is mentioning nothing about using the username / password to get a token, but using an authorization_code).

2- We are able to parse the access_token and able to get the information of the user, but, what is the easiest way to verify the token, and what public key should be used to verify the token, and to make sure that it is not changed.

3- How to parse and verify the other tokens?

Thanks

EDIT:

I have tried to use this website: http://jwt.io/ to parse and verify the token, but it is requesting the public key to do that, I need to know where I can get that public key from.
