We recently attempted an upgrade from Azure AD Sync to Azure AD Connect and have hit a possible bug attempting to get the installer to verify our existing ADFS farm, appears a few others have it too -> https://connect.microsoft.com/site1164/Feedback/Details/1162048
The installer fails to make any attempt at a remote connection and generates the error shown in screenshot and following text in the logs,

remote management is enabled on the remote server and any firewalls are configured to allow Windows Remote Management.
Error is fairly self explanatory "...No credentials were specified to manage the server..." but not sure which credentials its attempting to use and why they aren't passed down to the code performing the remote Powershell check?
We have tested Powershell remoting with credentials of both locally logged on user and the service account we specified for the AD Connect service and both have no issue making a remote call to the ADFS server.
We've logged a support call and been advised to not expect anything back quick, we were told to expect days. Has anyone else hit this issue and know of any suitable workarounds before we roll back to AD Sync.
