Changes what attributes are sync'ed to AAD

Hello,

Just getting started with Azure AD and have some very (very!) basic questions :-)

We had a consultant onsite some time ago help us setup AAD and AADSync.

We used the Azure AD Sync tool to configure the sync and restricted the list of applications to only Office ProPlus.

All is working well.

However we would now like to sync more attributes. We want to sync the Intune and Dynamics CRM attributes. I am aware of the attributes we want to sync from this article - https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/dn764938.aspx

So my beginners question is simply is it OK to re-run the Azure AD Sync tool going through the wizard a second time(after disabling the AAD Sync Scheduler Task - am assuming I stop the Microsoft Azure AD Sync Service?) to add the additional Azure AD apps? In essence there is no harm in re-runnig the AAD Sync tool wizard numerous times to change which attributes we sync?

Would you recommend any pre and post change steps such as backing up AAD or making a note of any settings first, etc?

Also where do I check what attributes that are being sync'ed? Is this done via the properties of the connector in the Synchronization Service Manager? If I wanted to add additional attributes that are not set via the Azure AD Sync Tool wizard is it ok to just set them here?

Thanks in advance, know this might be a (very)basic question for most, just taking my initial first steps with AAD and just want to be cautious.
