Hi all,
We have recently decided to move to Office 365 (Exchange still remaining on Premise).
We've setup the Office 365 tenant side and are ready to sync some test users with Dirsync..
I've followed various guides on how to filter out users and narrowing down to only look in a specific OU etc. these settings I'm now happy with (Test OU with a couple of test users, one of which has an attribute set which we are filtering on - therefore only expect a single user to sync to AAD). *I have set the filter to 'Does not contain' "O365" in the extensionAttribute15
I've ran a 'Full Import Stage Only' which as far as I can deduce is only a test and doesn't actually do anything (test radial selected and creating a log file)
In the log file I see thousands of 'obsolete' entries and several 'replace' entries (mostly DNS related to my domain name) - two are the users in the OU... because I have set the 'ExtensionAttribute15' to "O365" on one of the users I do see that value is present - but the user who does not have that attribute set is still down as a 'replace' in the log file..
After running this I am presented with '7533 Deletes' and '26 Updates' (I've counted the number of attributes in my user which I do want to sync and the number is 26 - but it doesn't explain why other account also displays as 'Replace' in the log file)
Please can you put my mind at rest:
1) Although I'm clicking on the Active Directory Connector and click on run an 'Import' - it is actually referring to importing to Office 365 (seems the wrong direction to me) - I just do not like the way I'm running something against my on Premise AD and it tells me it has 'deleted' several thousand objects!!!
2) Dirsync - is only in one direction and I cannot damage my on-premise AD (related to the 1st question I guess)?
thanks
Chris
