Is there any other way to remove the association of a custom domain from a previously deleted Azure AD account without having to buy a support subscription and open a ticket?
I had my custom domain associated with my Azure subscription, but couldn't get directory sync to flow over to my onmicrosoft.com Intune AAD. I didn't need the Azure AD that was created when I originally setup my Azure tenant so I removed the custom domain and deleted the AAD from my Azure subscription so I'm only left with the onmicrosoft.com AAD.
Now when I try to associate my custom domain with the onmicrosoft.com AAD it keeps failing saying the domain is already assigned to another MS online service.
I removed all the TXT entries from my public DNS (godaddy), waited a day, then added the custom domain back and the new TXT record to my public DNS. Waited another 2 days just in case and still not able to add the custom domain. Tried adding through the PowerShell commands as well and same error.
