Connect-MsolService failure trying to Set up a trust between AD FS and Azure AD

Trying to set up RemoteApp collection via 'Link a RemoteApp collections virtual network'. Vnet and AD (with AD FS) on an Azure VM are set up. This is the step to Add a Domain (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj205461.aspx#BKMK_AddSSDomain) under Set up a trust between AD FS and Azure AD. I've tried Windows Azure Active Directory Module for Windows PowerShell on the Azure VM and on a local machine, current version and previous version, all returning "Connect-MsolService : The user name or password is incorrect. Verify your user name, and then type your password again.". This is for a Microsoft account where there exists an organizational account with the same id (email address).

For a Microsoft account that does not have an organizational account of the same id, a different error is returned:
Microsoft.Online.Administration.Automation.MicrosoftOnlineException (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2887306)

Is there another way of adding the domain, just to get us up and running with RemoteApp? Or is there a later requirement to Connect-MsolService in this manner where we'll come unstuck again (in which case, any ideas on how to fix)?

Many thanks for any assistance. Craig.
