I'm attempting to assign "Enterprise Mobility Suite G" licenses (a license package for Azure Active Directory Premium) to a group from the Azure Management Portal. When I select the group and click assign, I'm given this error, "Could not assign license plan 'Enterprise Mobility Suite G' to [GROUP]". It doesn't provide me with any other feedback for cause.
The group I'm attempting to use is a group created in my local Active Directory and synced with DirSync. I attempted to assign licenses to other local AD groups and even to a group a created directly in the Azure Management Portal. I'm presented with the same error every time.
I am able to assign licenses to individual users, but given I have a few hundred users to assign licenses to, using a group would be ideal.
Is anyone able to shed some light on this situation?
