Is there an API for login for Azure Active Directory?

Hi,

We are interested in using Azure Active Directory as an Identity Store. We would like to have our own login page. Is there an API available which we can call with userid and password and the API can tell us if the user is a valid user or not? We could not find any information in the documentation.
