Hi everyone,
The story here is that a non-profit that I help ran AD Sync and we where blind-sided by loosing the ability for users to reset their own Office365 passwords (now set to match the on-premise AD passwords). This is due to them not having sufficient license for password self-service or password write-back. This left them with no way to reset a password other than from the on-premise AD... something that wasn't planned for.
As a band-aid fix, I've activated a P2 trial (30 days) and this immediatelyallowed users to reset their own passwords and password write-back updated the on-premise AD... happy days. Note thatI didn't apply any of the 100 trial licenses to any accounts... they are all unassignedyet everyone benefited.
Now I need to find cost-effective way to make this permanent. They can't afford P2 for 60+ staff and even P1 is an unexpected costs without a huge benefit to them, at least at this stage. At the same time, it would be nice if users can have just one set of credentials and SSO.
My question is then, if I purchase 1 or 2 P2 licenses for the glabal admin accounts and leave all other staff with their E1 and E3 Office365 licenses, will they remain being able to use self-service and password write-back?
