get-msoldomainfederationsettings - Access denied. You do not have permissions to run this cmdlet

Hi Microsoft Community,

Have a permission issue with abovementioned Powershell cmdlet.

I installed the latest MSOnline and AzureAD modules on Windows Server 2016 server.

AAD domain is federated.

Imported the modules

ran connect-msolservice using a Global Admin account

after that, I tried

Get-msoldomain -domainname mydomain.com     - works just fine.

but when I tried

get-msoldomainfederationsettings -domainname "mydomain.com" |fl *

it failed with "Access Denied. You do not have permissions to run this cmdlet". Same Global admin account. Same domain name.

Does anybody have a clue what it could be?

Thanks!
